Parking Meters Installed at Sixth and Vine Lot
City engineers began installing meters on the north west corner lot at Sixth and Vine. A shipment of 25 meters arrived from Mi Co Meter Co, with about eight more to reach 83 total. Two Children Drown Freezing in Green Lake Rescue Tragedy
In Green Lake Wisconsin two six year old children Clarence Wallner Jr and Carol Brightman slipped through a hole in the ice while trying to rescue seven year old Mary Brightman who clung to the ice. Mary and the two others were skating nearby when the accident occurred. Mary was pulled from the hole by Mary the others bodies were recovered from under the ice. Deputy Sheriff Robert Moore retrieved Mary from the water after a cousin pair Robert and Gerald Walker alerted authorities. The Brightman family were locals Mrs and Mr William Brightman were the parents.
