La Crosse physicians Dr J M Furstman and Dr F C Suiter condemned rumors linking vaccination to Emory Egan 8, and stated no death or arm loss is due to vaccination. Astoria, Oregon. The oil tank ship Rosecrans sank today at Peacock Spit near the Columbia river mouth in a gale. Forty crew members were aboard. 37 are believed to have perished after the vessel foundered as 60 mile winds lashed mountainous seas. Three men were seen clinging to masts before the ship disappeared. The Rosecrans was owned by the Associated Oil company.救
A. L. Ruthven promoter and inventor of the Ruthven railway signal device faces a U S court trial on charges of misuse of the mails. He is accused of swindling investors in Cleveland Chicago Columbus Cincinnati Indianapolis New Orleans and other cities of more than a million dollars. Judge Foster overruled his demurrer to the charge that false representations were by his agents in selling stock for the signal company.
In Chicago Jan 7 Judge Landis heard bids for the Illinois properties of the Chicago and Milwaukee Electric road. Attorney J W Moses for John Griffiths bid 2 190 000, $200 000 above Griffiths previous offer. The court would decide this afternoon on the raised 2 000 000 bid by the road's reorganizatrion committee, whose lower bid was ruled too low and irregular.
Coroner Foertmeyer ordered a post mortem on Rev August S Schade found dead at Rand hotel. Investigation began to identify the writer of love notes signed Allene and the actress photos found near the body. A letter dated Chicago and another mailed to Gray Gables Cleveland were noted.

Royal Bones of Ives, Racine County, narrowly escaped death Monday when a prize Holstein charged after the scent of a dead horse. Flung over a fence, Bones sustained serious injuries but survived the attack.

A new exclusive golf club named the Old Elm is organized by Chicago's wealthy set. The Rt Rev Bishop Fox attended and the jubilee closes with a banquet at Linkers Hall tonight. Toasts include The Holy Father, La Crosse hierarchy, St Josephs Cathedral clergy and laity. Snow forced cancellation of today’s races in Juarez Mexico. Entries were called off as the snow stopped play and disrupted the program.
Senator Robert La Follette displayed a large hand lettered sign reading Dont shoot the fiddler Hes doing his damndest as a protest during the impeachment hearing of Judge Archbald. Senator Augustus Bacon presided and repeatedly sustained Archbalds attorneys against testimony. Bacon delivered the sign to Henry M. Rose to file.
London debates renewed Balkan peace talks as Sir Edward Grey signals possible joint power intervention. Balkan envoys push Turks to reopen negotiations by Saturday while Adrianople looms, with Pope Pius seeking Holy Land protection in London talks.
The Yale full back known as Lefty Flynn married Rena Leary yesterday at city hall. The bride, a Winter Garden chorus member named Rena Clare, is from Holyoke Massachusetts and described as a rare beauty. Alderman John McCann performed the ceremony.
