Ugandan President Idi Amin appears to summon Britons and Americans to a Wednesday meeting at Entebbe airport. British diplomats in Kampala and Nairobi verify reports that about 200 Britons and 240 Americans were ordered to attend. Amin says Americans are safe and may receive medals. Telephone service restored after Onalaska West Salem outage
Full service between Onalaska and La Crosse and between West Salem and La Crosse was restored Sunday after outages. A wet cable caused the Onalaska break while a Friday night crash near Salem Junction disrupted West Salem lines. No injuries were reported. About 100 Onalaska residents signed a petition at Sko gen's IGA opposing La Crosse Telephone Corp for poor service.

Peace mission to take veteran back to Bataan
Prairie du Chien Wisconsin resident Myrl Brown a World War II veteran of the 24th Infantry Division will join a Reunion for Peace in the Philippines on April 9 with his wife Gladys.
