Former Teamster leader Dave Beck was sentenced to five years in prison and a 60000 dollar fine for income tax evasion. Judge George Boldt condemned Beck’s greed and noted the extensive fraud over 1950 to 1953, plus additional penalties and interest bringing the total to about 556000 dollars. Beck posted the bond and was released after the sentence.
