W. F. Benton Dies Here After 60 Years in Electrical Field
William F. Benton 83 of 112 North 10th Street died in a city hospital early Wednesday. Born August 25, 1867 in Prairie du Lac Wisconsin he helped run Benton firms later Benton Electrical Co. He was active in Masonic orders including Frontier lodge No.45 and La Crosse Commandery No.9. Survived by son Edwin L. Benton and sister Mrs. Alice Voght. wife died 1950. Funeral Friday at 2 pm in the Masonic temple. burial Oak Grove cemetery.

Onalaska Boy Drank Beer Before Fatal Train Accident
County officials released a joint statement about 14 year old Victor Willison's death in Onalaska. They ruled out criminal action and an inquest, citing a fire damaged beer load from a trailer in the Swanson building hauled to the city dump. Willison and Arthur Miller had found beer, Willison drank it, and he died when he leapt for a moving freight train.
