Garland home hosts UW La Crosse literature night

A group of UW La Crosse literature students gathered around Hamlin Garland's restored Garland home in West Salem Wisconsin to discuss his 1905 short story Martha's Fireplace and view period furnishings. Assistant professor Richard Boudreau organized the event, the first since restoration work finished in 1976, with eleven attendees seeking renewed interest in Garland.

74 year old man welcomes 15th child and final rebirth

O P Simpson of Mansfield Ohio and his third wife Kathleen welcomed a daughter Tyanne Marie Simpson born February 16 weighing eight pounds five ounces making their family 15 children.
