In Knoxville Tennessee a German shepherd's four week old pups fell into a 28 foot well. Two pups were saved using a towel sling and a long pole with a noose but one pup remains at the bottom. Rescue efforts paused after a landslide and cave ins endangering workers.
Gale-Ettrick High School in Galesville hosts four additional adult farm classes on Mondays at 8 15 p m in the Agricultural room. Sessions feature speakers discussions and educational films to inform local farmers.
The City of La Crosse Board of Education will accept bids until 1 30 p m March 3 1967 for gym seats at the new Central High School. Mrs Tillie Page 90 of 1811 Barlow St died in a local hospital Feb 15. She leaves three sons Floyd Stone Ralph Stone and John Lenhert and two daughters Georgina Gutheridge Pernell McCabe plus 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Services Monday at Schumacher Funeral Home and Cathedral of St Joseph the Workman. Burial at St Joseph Cemetery Hokah. Terry Hill 10 months son of Eugene and Mrs. Hill died Feb 16 after three weeks illness born Winona Apr 21 1966. Survived by parents a brother and three sisters and extended grandparents and great grandparents. Services tentatively set at Fawcett Funeral Home Winona.
Grover Eggenberger 79 of 1307 S 10th St died suddenly at home Friday February 17. Funeral services will be announced later by Schumacher Funeral Home.
Services for Emma Fel ler 79 who died Thursday Feb 16 in a local hospital will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Dickinson Jackson Street Chapel with Rev Wayne Grover officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday. She leaves one daughter Mrs Howard Gibbs of La Crosse and sisters Mrs Harold Hilbert of La Crosse and Mrs Mabel Wilson of Hemet Calif. She was preceded in death by three.

A boy named Gregory Neuman nine was killed in suburban Minneapolis when playing in a snow tunnel as a plow ran over him. Brother Jeffrey eleven was bruised. driver James McAlpin fifty five said he did not see the boy. The Minnesota traffic toll rose to sixty one, seven fewer than last year.

Ronald Dashner a 22 year old former Wisconsin Rapids police clerk was sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to failing to report for civilian hospital work as a conscientious objector. He waived indictment and admitted not reporting to Madison General Hospital for substitute military service under the draft. The judge imposed a two year term equal to the assigned hospital work period.
James Tauscher of West Salem won the senior division in La Crosse County 4-H speaking contest held at the courthouse. He earns a berth to the district contest in Sparta on March 21. Other division winners include Kurt Bosshard Bangor and Douglas Schomberg West Salem.
