About 150 University of Wisconsin alumni and guests will attend the Alumni Association banquet at the First Presbyterian church parlors at 6 15 this evening. Dr Charles R Van Hise will give the principal address. Speakers include Miss Katherine Hayes and William F Wolfe. The high school orchestra will play during dinner.
Louis Berger, a German citizen, told Federal Judge Landis he prefers fighting Russians to a Canadian trial. Judge Landis continued extradition proceedings until Wednesday. Berger is charged with larceny in Winnipeg.
Milwaukee in February report says John A. Hensel, inventor and educator and former mayoral candidate, was jailed after proposing to cut bread to one cent a loaf and to convert garbage into food alcohol and fertilizer pending a mental health inquiry.
George F. Kenny once a prominent Detroit clubman remains jailed in Jackson awaiting a Boston detective. He is indicted for larceny of $1,000 from Desmond S. Lamb in Boston last year and is described as suffering from cancer with physicians stating only a short time to live.
Mrs Rose Koch postpones marriage to F W Priester until after the Republican mayoral primaries. Her brother Alderman Jacob A Hey is a candidate, and a honeymoon would cost him votes if she married today.
