Chicago, Feb 12. Mrs Dora McDonald was found not guilty of killing Webster Guerin by a jury in Judge Brentano's court. The jury deliberated briefly before returning the verdict exonerating the widow of Mike McDonald, Chicago's former gambling figure.
The court absolves Mrs. McDonald of wrongdoing while portraying her as a victim of a blackmailer. The man died in a struggle for a pistol during an attempted extortion, and Mrs. McDonald briefly smiled as the verdict was read before collapsing. Medical staff assisted and she later went home.
The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. George Dansberry died last night at their Tyler Street home after a short illness with grip. The funeral was held this afternoon with interment at Oak Grove cemetery.
Hodgenville Kentucky February 12 1910 the Lincoln Farm Association moves to commemorate Abraham Lincolns birth in a log cabin site near Hodgenville The group led by Joseph W Folk and with Robert Collier funds a 400000 drive with 110 acres bought the site will feature a landscaped pantheon of poplars and monuments designed by John Russell Pope.
Senator La Follette surprised the Senate by adding a rider to the Aldrich currency bill requiring a valuation of railroad physical property by the Interstate Commerce Commission. The move, read in full, strengthens the proposal and may be voted on despite procedural questions.

Leonard B. Marsh a commercial traveling man aged about 32 with family at 529 Cass street dropped dead on Clinton Illinois depot platform while waiting for a train. Heart disease listed as cause. He worked for North Star Boot and Shoe Co of Minneapolis and was well known. Body to be brought home for burial.
New York Feb 12 Independent labor party urged as unaligned with existing parties and free from socialist ties. United Press inquiry shows national labor leaders expect a party by the coming campaign with a national convention or direct union calls to start the movement.
Washington D C February 12 The president named Louis A Coolage of Massachusetts as assistant secretary of the treasury. He previously worked as a newspaper correspondent in Washington.
President Roosevelt announced the nomination of Ralph E. Arnold to serve as postmaster of Fairchild Wisconsin. The action was reported from Washington on February 12 with no indication of confirmation.
Ruth Bleekman died at St Francis hospital after delirium and a streptococcus infection following diphtheria. She had traveled from Calumet Michigan to attend her father A. E. Bleekman Sr.’s funeral in La Crosse. Surviving are her mother and brother, with services expected Friday at the family residence.
In Van Asia Minor a magazine exploded during Turkish troops attempted capture, killing many and wrecking the Armenian quarter. Armenian defenders allegedly hid ammunition in a church and fighting followed, with the church blown apart and numerous combatants killed. Van, with 30,000 residents, hosts American missions.
Galesville Wisconsin February 12 N S Farrand pioneer lumber merchant died last evening at his home after ten years with creeping paralysis. He had been an invalid for years but his condition worsened after a la grippe in the last week.
A banking source claims Comptroller Ridgley accepted the presidency of the National Bank of Commerce in Kansas City, but Ridgley denies resigning and says no offer has been made. The report, echoed by local papers, is contradicted by official remarks.
The Wisconsin Illinois league sold Eau Claire franchise to Rockford for 1000 dollars and transferred 16 Eau Claire players to La Crosse. La Crosse now has 36 players and plans to report by March 1. President Elliott says the purchase was speculative and some players may be sold to American Association clubs.
Reports indicate a smallpox outbreak in the northern part of Holland town with several residents attacked by the illness.
