Mysterious Fire Destroys J D Hunt Barn on Cass Street
A large barn owned by J D Hunt between Eleventh street and West avenue was nearly burned to the ground in a suspected incendiary fire. A pony carriage and other valuables were saved, hay and feed were destroyed, and firemen arrived after the blaze had gained headway. A false alarm by unknown callers later sent Fire Company No 2 to St James and Caledonia streets, where no fire was found.
