The Sawyer Memorial Auditorium fund totaled 656063.71 on December 1 1952 reported to Mayor Henry Ahrens by La Crosse Trust Company. Interest for 1952 added 11210.35 bringing balance to 658260.43. Disbursements reduced total by 2196.72. The fund began December 12 1950 at 637208.99 and reached 647050.08 by December 31 1951. Construction could start in April if site condemnation proceeds.

Polio Stricken Mother To See Son For First Time
Randy Moss five and a half months old and his mother Mrs. William E. Moss will meet soon. Randy was born Aug 13 1952 at St Francis Hospital while his mother was in an iron lung. Mrs Moss contracted polio July 22 and delivered in isolation. Randy spent time at St Ann s Hospital and Camp McCoy Army Hospital before joining his mother in Battle Creek Michigan. Linda Moss four and a half years old awaits also. Cpl W E Moss and wife were en route from Battle Creek to Hillsboro Illinois to be reunited with family.
