Bitter Cold Drives Fuel Oil Demand and Prices Rise
Cold weather keeps investors in 1946 record lows and drives up fuel oil demand. Hemker Oil Co. notes a 4 to 5 cent rise since Sept 30 with others increasing about a half cent this week. No. 1 and No. 2 fuel oil show higher retail prices as supply tightens and outages occur across Wisconsin.
