1966 Wisconsin farm prices rise amid exodus from dairying
Wisconsin farm prices in 1966 topped records yet failed to curb a mass exit from dairying as over 5,000 farmers left dairy enterprises. Cash receipts may rise about 15 percent with milk and livestock prices, while net farm income could exceed 500 million dollars, though fewer farmers share the gains. The state’s dairy output remains strong even as farm numbers shrink.
