William Perdue, GM of Pure Milk Products Co-operative, calls for reducing legal butterfat from 80 percent to cut butter prices. He argues new state and national legislation is needed to compete with substitutes. The Rotary Club heard that demand has shifted and that imitation dairy products use non-fat solids with vegetable oils. The co-op board supports the idea, but the membership blocked approval at Fond du Lac last fall.
