Winners announced in health limerick and slogan contest
The Public Health Committee and Civic Bureau of the Chamber of Commerce announced winners of school based health awareness contests. George Mekvold of Hogan School won first in the limerick contest. Viola Stroeh of St Joseph’s School took second. Slogan winners include Norman Lavon Clark and Josephine Seamite among others. Prizes ranged up to one dollar for limericks and varied cash awards for slogans. The poems promote buying Christmas seals to fund tuberculosis prevention efforts.
