Two New Residents Arrive Christmas Day
The Coulee Region welcomed two new residents on Christmas Day at St. Ann's in La Crosse, the area’s maternity hospital. First, Gomer and Virginia Roberts of Bangor welcomed a six pound 342 ounce son at 4:30 a.m. The second birth, a son named Robert William Richards, weighed seven pounds 84 ounces and arrived at 7 a.m. His mother is the former Myrl Knapp of St. Paul and his sister is Karen Elizabeth.

Two La Crosse youths injured in early crash
A 19 year old driver John L Tostrud and 17 year old Jerry Rayner were injured when their 1946 car struck a tree in the 1500 block of La Crosse street at 1 27 am Monday. Tostrud is in serious condition with head injuries and cuts while Rayner has facial cuts and was released later. Two other occupants escaped injury. The car belonged to Ernest Sanwick Green Island.
