Natural Wildness Of Wolf River Area Hurt Under Plan

The U S fish and wildlife service opposes revival of a Wolf river flood control plan proposing upper Wolf River reservoirs to store water for winter spring floods and low water flushes. The report warns such impoundments threaten wildlife habitat scenic value and musk rat and waterfowl, favoring a low head dam near Big Lake Butte des Morts instead. The Wisconsin conservation commission will review after its Rivers Survey section analyzes the plan.
