Allies Clear German Forces South of Senio River and Faenza
Allied headquarters reported that American and Polish forces of the Eighth Army have nearly cleared enemy troops from areas south of the Senio and west of the anti-Rimini highway while facing strong German resistance near Faenza. A savage counterattack north of the highway forced a temporary regrouping as forces held a nine mile wide salient between Faenza and Bagnacavallo. On the Fifth Army front near Bologna there were no major position changes.
