Madison dispatch reports the Wisconsin governor is drafting a special message and may abandon plans for the senate race after the legislature defeated his favored measures. An extra session is expected to close tonight or tomorrow.
Congressman Esch introduced a bill in Congress to authorize a 900000 addition to the Crosse post office with treasury alterations for space. Postmaster Tscharner says the office needs more room as the Christmas rush and cramped space hinder clerks. The plan proposes doubling interior working area by building onto the easy side, with architect plans cited. passage this session is uncertain due to many post office funding bills.
Newport reports Mrs Taggart and her sons are in town with Culver recovering from surgery. Capt Taggart pledges to pursue legal steps if she fled, while Longworth jokes about a trance and wedding plans with the Roosevelts. Amador of Panama and Magoon clash over Standard Oil oil pipelines through the canal zone.

Madison Anna Mason widow of former Abaca mayor George S. Mason dies at 70 at her daughter Mrs W M Short’s home. Oshkosh Thomas S Allen Civil War veteran and pioneer newspaper man aged 86. Blanchardville Richard Ivey aged 88. Delavan Mrs Susan Aran aged 91.

In Wausau Wisconsin the preliminary examination of Fred and Caroline Ohls on murder charges for Ida Guttmer’s death resumed after postponements. Fred Ohls was discharged. Caroline bound for circuit court. A man named Gunard Gilbertson confessed to giving $10 for a so called operation. Evidence included clothing and girdle corsets linked to the Ohls family. A young girl at the house suffered blood poisoning from a claimed operation. A rig seen near the hill where the body lay was reported speeding away then returning with a galloping horse.
The funeral for Mrs Barbara Schwab was conducted yesterday afternoon at her home 1219 South Fourteenth Street with Rev Henry Andreas officiating. Mrs Theodore Mann Stedt oversaw the arrangements.

Crowds gathered for the funeral of Mrs Harriet Pidge Cameron who died in Washington last Sunday. The service at the Presbyterian church in La Crescent was led by Rev Bantly with the Masonic lodge in charge at the grave. Pallbearers included Scott Davidson Hardgrave and Freeman from the First Wisconsin battery. Floral tributes came from Washington La Crosse and Houston county friends as the Camerons plan to return to Washington.

G. H. Welch of 1628 Avonstreet returns home from St. Francis hospital where he was treated by an eye specialist for seven weeks. A grandson accidentally injured his eye by sticking a finger, causing serious damage and reduced vision, though the eyeball remained.

Grand Rapids, Dec 14. An unknown man believed to be an inmate of the Soldiers' Home blew himself up with dynamite in the cemetery connected with the home. The blast scattered his remains over a large area and identification was impossible.
Adam Mueller of 515 North Tenth Street died last night of tuberculosis at age 62. The funeral will be held from the cathedral Saturday morning with Rev. G Sluyter officiating, and interment will follow in the Catholic cemetery.
Brownsville Pa December 14 The passenger steamer Rosehite collided with a coal barge and sank Four or five persons were drowned in the disaster The incident occurred near Brownsville with rescue efforts underway and authorities investigating the cause.
