VICO Insurance Expands With Volkswagen Carowners
Volkswagen Insurance Company VICO grows rapidly by selling policies through VW dealers and mail. It held 12 percent of new VW insurance in 1972, with 4.5 million VW owners in the U.S. and only two percent insured. VICO, based in St. Louis, earned over 2 million this year on 27.6 million in revenues. VW owns 40 percent of VICO and markets its products alongside Hobelmann and Aquila Life Insurance acquisitions.
