Teacher Placement At U Rated Good As 85% Secure Positions
Eighty five percent of the 1949 crop of teachers trained by the University of Wisconsin were placed in high schools and colleges nationwide. Wisconsin filled 400 of the jobs with new educators while 325 went out of state, and salaries for beginning teachers rose for women to about 2523 dollars. An over supply in history, science, and physical education appears, with 15 percent still unemployed.
