Green River Wyoming December 7. An east bound Overland Limited collided head on with a west bound freight near Milkins four miles from Green River at midnight. Sixteen dead including engineers and firemen of both trains and dining crew. Fire destroyed mail baggage and several cars. Injuries among passengers and train crew. Misunderstanding of orders blamed. Disaster followed by public reaction and great damage to track and equipment.

Rotten Piping Found In New Caledonia Street Mains

John Bakalars Killed in West in Railroad Tragedy
Paul Bakalars of 914 Adams street received a telegram this morning announcing that his son John Bakalars was killed at Laramie North Dakota. He was 25 and a fireman on the Great Northern railroad. It is inferred he died in a railroad accident. He was brother to Frank Bakalars, former tolltaker on the wagon bridge. Further details expected later today.

Barely Escape Watery Grave on Black River Ice
George Oeltjendier and a young woman, name not learned, narrowly escaped drowning while skating on the Black River. Warm weather weakened the ice at a weak spot by St. Cloud street, plunging them into ten feet of water. They clung to the edge and were pulled out after about two minutes, suffering only a cold bath.

Resortion Board Pay Boost For Horse Care Proposed
