The Society of American Florists offers care tips based on plant origin and type, including light and water needs for varieties such as sansevieria dracaena nephthytis and English ivy. Water strategies differ for soil and water grown plants, with feeding guidance and charcoal for water. Blooming plants require more sun and water, while warm climate species like African violet poinsettia gardenia prefer warmth.
