Cairo reports renewed fighting along the Gaza Sinai frontier with six killed this week. Negotiations Resume at Allis-Chalmers Plants in Two Cities

Ruud Pioneer Drugist Dies. Geneva Talks Open

Funeral services for Harold N. Ruud 71 a pioneer druggist will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sletten McKee Chapel with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. He was born in La Crosse July 4 1884 and began in 1900 as a druggist at Bellevue Drugstore. He later founded Ruud's Drugstore West Ave and Jackson St earning national recognition for curb service and home delivery.

Lightning deaths: Viroqua man struck in field

Herman Nordin, 48, a Viroqua farmer, was killed by lightning Saturday noon while harvesting tobacco near Viroqua. He is survived by his wife Selma, a daughter Avanelle Genz, La Crosse, two sons Clarence from La Farge and Arland at home, his mother Mary Nordin of La Farge, two sisters Freda Parker of Pueblo and Hilma Parker of La Farge, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were set for Tuesday with burial in Viroqua Cemetery after services at Jacobson and Vance Funeral Home and Westby Coon Prairie Church. Friends were expected at the funeral home Monday evening.
