Woman Drowns In River While Wading Near Barron's Island
Mrs Peter Jenson of Norwalk drowned in the West channel of the river after wading from a sandbar near Barron's island. Miss Em Moeser and Jack McKnight attempted rescue as the two women were in the water about three minutes. The body will be shipped to Norwi Wisconsin for funeral arrangements.

He waved for help, removed his clothing, and swam when rescued after W Schildman and a nearby gasoline launch aided him. Quake Recorded at University in Arbor Michigan
A tremor was detected on the new seismograph at the University of Michigan in Arbor. The first tremor began at 1 06 with vibrations moving north to south. Lighter aftershocks lasted about an hour and forty minutes, with authorities suggesting origin possibly in the West Indies or Pacific region.
