He is to succeed to the title of Sir Frederic Grey upon his elder brother’s death, and plans to return to England to assume the honors. Grey’s background includes bigamy and other offenses in England, plus a claim to 306,099 acres of Mexican land.
Mrs Hope McEldowney of West Salem lost 15500 to James Ryan who posed as Prof Charles Crane mystic healer and cult leader in Chicago. Ryan was arrested in Lusk Wyoming on swindling charges as investigators prepare extradition papers to Chicago. The pursuit follows reports that she handed money to two men posing as investment firm members who fled to New York after cashing out.
Grand Junction Mothers club resolves to enroll co-eds from the state university at Boulder in motherhood duties using babies borrowed from the state orphanage. The group aims to bind members to expand care of babies and young children as part of the curriculum.

Rome April 19 Pope Pius III is much better and without fever for the third day in a row. He had a quiet night and early nourishment. doctors say two more fever free days are needed before convalescence is assured. Dr Marchiafava noted no signs of change for the worse and expects continued rest.
In Jefferson City Missouri on April 19 the Supreme Court received a report by Commissioner C C Crow stating Circuit Judge Guthrie erred in holding Colonel W R Nelson of the Kansas City Star in contempt for a critical article. The report affirms courts allow reasonable interpretation of court actions and permit differing views that do not impugn court motives.
In Quincy Illinois on April 19 the state signals it will seek the death penalty for Ray Pfanschmidt as Attorney Wall opens his statement to the jury in the quadruple murder case.

Lieutenant Governor Thomas Morris saves his seventeen year old daughter Cassie Morris from a clothing and hair blaze at their 1309 Main street home. He smothers the flames, suffers burn injuries to hands and wrists, while Cassie escapes with only minor burns and a swift recovery expected. The girl had ignited her dress while turning on a gas heater in the bathroom. Morris arrived home moments later and acted to extinguish the blaze.
Temperature in La Crosse over the last 24 hours peaked at 62 and dipped to 38 with no precipitation. Forecast calls for fair conditions tonight and Sunday with little temperature change.
