Woman Smoker Charged In La Crosse Apartment Fire
A 24 year old La Crosse woman, Sally Rubin, was ordered into municipal court on a charge of smoking and starting a blaze that gutted much of the W and S apartment building at 3rd and State. Forty residents fled as firemen battled the five hour blaze. Building owners and inspectors weigh possible reconstruction versus condemnation. One injury reported a 65 year old Iowa woman treated for smoke inhalation. Fire started at 2 30 a m.

Waste pellet fuel trial by Wisconsin paper firms
