Man of 69 shoots girl of 16 and then kills himself
Samuel L. Gardner a 60 year old coal operator and former borough engineer in McKees Rocks shot Dorothy Bradley 16 and then killed himself after finding the girl with a young man at a village church. Gardner had been infatuated with the girl who was the chum of his daughter. The wife and servant found him unconscious after the shooting.
