Farmers' Market Returns to City Hall Parking Lot
La Crosse will again host a Farmers Market in the City Hall parking lot on Saturdays starting the first June Saturday. Vendors pay a $5 annual permit to sell produce on as many Saturdays as desired. Health Officer George Baldwin notes the fee is arbitrary for ease of administration. Mayor Zielke expects larger participation this season after last year's success. The health department issued 35 permits last year as gardening season began.
