Train strikes car at Trempealeau crossing prevents rollover
At Trempealeau Wisconsin the North Western 400 passenger train struck a Galesville man Fred Raichle driving a 1951 model car broadside at County Trunk Highway K. The car was pushed 174 feet along the tracks and did not overturn though Raichle aged 79 suffered a severe forehead cut and other lacerations. He was taken to a La Crosse hospital for observation while traffic officers and deputies investigated the accident.
