Taylor Man Dies From Injuries
Walter Louis Matzelle 50 died at 11 a m Saturday May 9 in a La Crosse hospital from injuries suffered April 29 when a tractor he was unloading tipped on him near Alma Center. Services are pending Jensen Funeral Home Hixton. He was born July 15 1913 at Potosi and married Vivian Lambert May 4 1940. He lived in Kellogg Fountain City and New York before moving here. He served in the merchant marine and, with his wife, operated a restaurant here 11 years. Surviving are his widow one daughter Vicky at home mother and one sister Edith Cassville.
Military Transport Crashes In Oklahoma
A C124 military transport plane with six aboard crashed near Cooperton Oklahoma an AP report says one body recovered from Clovis Air Force Base to Dover route. Det Mrs Dale Callen heard a roar saw flames and alerted authorities. Sheriff Leon Messick dispatched responders to the scene.
