Walkers Reach Far South Side For 20 Mile Cerebral Palsy Walkathon
About 900 to 1100 participants joined Saturday's third annual 20 mile walkathon to raise funds for cerebral palsy. Early mood was cool with sprinkles as groups set out toward Riverside Park finish. some completed by 12:30 p.m. while others lingered until 2 p.m. The event stressed youth though a few older walkers noted experience helps.

Crest Reaches as Rivers Fall in Tri-State Area
The Mississippi River rose to 20.6 feet in Prairie du Chien and 18.6 feet in Guttenburg, with crests near 21 and about 19 feet expected. Prairie du Chien evacuated 75 families as Red Cross aided with shelter, Coast Guard and police patrolled to ward off looting and manage boats.
