La Crosse County Sheriff announced a scheduled firearms course for deputies will cover when and how to draw and fire revolvers. The coroner's jury urged more training after a deputy discharged a revolver fatally injuring a French Island boy. Alma Wisconsin AP report says 17 year old Thomas Reiter found a 125 pound metal barrel on a sandbar while fishing on the Mississippi. He later helped authorities link the find to a Brainerd Minnesota man who admitted disposing of counterfeit money into the river.

Strike Ends Heileman Kingsbury Plant in Sheboygan
In Sheboygan Wisconsin the Kingsbury brewery closed after the first strike in 124 years. Brewery Workers Local 277 members walked out at midnight voting 122 to 2 against the management contract package. Heileman president Russell B. Cleary said a 45 cent per hour wage increase over three years was offered. Secretary Joe Weiss said the union will picket around the clock. Only office workers entered the plant this morning. Kingsbury is a division of G Heileman Brewing Co of La Crosse Wisconsin.
