Auto-Lite Chief R. G. Martin Dies After Derby Run
Royce G. Martin 69 president and chairman of Electric Auto-Lite Co. died in a Lexington hospital shortly after his Kentucky Derby entry Goyama finished fourth at Louisville's Churchill Downs. He owned part of the horse with Mrs. W. Alton Jones of New York and bred horses at Woodvale Farm. Martin had heart trouble at his 385 acre farm and was treated with oxygen. He was a longtime aviation booster and earlier linked with the Moto Meter Gauge firm in La Crosse.
