Urge Polio Inoculations Be Continued

A Washington group of experts concluded a two day conference by approving the withdrawal of the Cutter vaccine for study while urging continued antipolio inoculations with vaccines from other makers. They called for careful day to day laboratory study of all polio cases after vaccination to assess any faults and noted no cause for alarm. Surgeon General Scheele said about four million children were vaccinated with 20 polio cases reported and field trials showed 60 to 90 percent effectiveness.

Remain Firm On Position Urged By Young Republicans

Saturday the Young Republicans urged President Eisenhower to hold firm on the policy that Quemoy and Matsu must not be abandoned. The resolution supported China’s claim to the islands and urged immediate Bricker amendment passage.
