Indians from seven Midwest tribes plus a Camp McCoy soldier and a Pawnee from Colorado performed war, rain, fish, and squaw dances at Veterans Memorial Park. The event featured an Indian Village, souvenir stands, and an Indian dance contest won by David Lincoln of Tomah.

Photographer's Young Failed In Space Walk
At Houston, technicians processed more than 800 feet of motion pictures and 360 stills from the Gemini 10 mission but found no frames showing Michael Collins during his space walk. John W. Young had expected striking images of Collins outside the craft. Officials cited two camera problems and the loss of a 70 mm still camera as causes.

Seven Miners Die in West Virginia Coal Mine Disaster
Seven miners were found dead after a series of underground explosions at the Siltex mine of the New River Co. near Mount Hope West Virginia. The deaths followed a 9 a.m. blast and 22 other miners were evacuated safely.
