Farmer 71 Killed In Highway Collision Near Sparta Wis
George Harmon 71 working on a farm north of Sparta was killed when he stepped into Highway 27 and was struck by a car driven by Robert M. Esser of Alma Center. Esser said he saw Harmon walking toward a mailbox and could not avoid the impact. Skid marks measured 109 feet. Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lanham's Mortuary with burial in Big Creek Cemetery.
