La Crosse May Adopt 1954 Budget Wednesday
The Common Council of La Crosse may adopt its 1954 budget at the adjourned meeting Wednesday night after review of a study on city employee classification and compensation. The Ways and Means Committee expects Frederick Young of the State Bureau of Personnel to provide the report early in the week, guiding budget recommendations. The tentative budget totals 4,175,709.62 with a 49 mill rate. adjustments previously lowered the total by 103,866.29, and a 48 mill rate would be needed under the current plan.
