La Crosse Girl and Aunt Drown in St Croix River
A nine year old La Crosse girl Sylvia Munson and her aunt Mrs Barbara Edstrom aged 30 drowned while wading in the St Croix River near St Croix Falls Wisconsin. The two were swept away as authorities say the girl wandered into a deep hole and the aunt attempted a rescue. Bodies were recovered and taken to Edlings Funeral Home in St Croix Falls. The families were camping at Interstate State Park nearby.
