Fairgrounds Set for Busy Week as Exposition Opens
La Crosse's Inter-State Fair grounds enter a busy period ahead of the 66th annual exposition opening Wednesday. Secretary Joseph W. Frisch moves his office to the grandstand and crews rush setup, with 360 head of cattle and numerous entries already recorded for livestock and 4-H. Grandstand shows run daily at 2 30 and 8 p.m. and judging begins Wednesday morning.

Car Strikes Couple On Sparta Walk
A young soldier Richard Norris 23 and his wife Carol Sue 22 were seriously injured when a car driven by George Craig 18 lost control while turning into an alley near Oak Street Sparta Wisconsin. Norris suffered multiple fractures and shock while his wife had a mangled leg and pelvic injuries. Police detained Craig and others connected to the driver. Both were hospitalized with Norris in serious condition and Mrs Norris in surgery.
