Miss Edith Oldham and Miss Echols of Driftwood visited Mrs Bart Crews last week. Mr and Mrs Arthur Bridge forth of Yoakum were weekend guests of the Garison couple. Mrs Jete Hart and Kathleen of Bishop stayed with Mrs J F Cox. Miss Charlie Jay Seal of Dripping Springs spent the weekend with Mrs Arthur Patton. Dr and Mrs W E Holtzclaw and Mrs Wayland with Bette Joe Wayland visited Dr and Mrs Sidney Severn of Seguin on Sunday. Bill Bradley of Catalina spent the weekend at home. Professor M B Covington of Kyle visited Jack Davis midweek. Mr and Mrs John Peeler and Pauline of Manchaca were guests of Mrs E H Nivens Wednesday. Tom McElroy, formerly of Buda, came by to visit old friends. Mrs Estelle Lock and son N S Ward of San Marcos were weekend guests of Mrs Locks mother Mrs Carlton. Miss Willie Meredith, ill for weeks, returns to State University.

On Friday evening Mrs Clay Lauderdale entertained a small group of young guests for a forty two party. Attendees included Miss Laura Bell Piland Miss Lois Cleveland Leon Garison Mingie Bell Greenhaw Dell Lauderdale August Armbrewster Halley Rylander Carroll Cox Kenneth Lauderdale Lawsen Fluitt. After games, guests enjoyed sandwiches fruit cake and hot chocolate.

On Sunday evening at the Baptist church the young people were given the preaching hour. The service included installation of officers, a devotional segment by Rev. T. Lee, a missionary playlet by six young ladies, and music by Mrs Tampke, Mrs H. I Bell, Professor Tampke, W. G. Williams, Halley Rylander, and Alden Young.

Death of W. F. Shelton noted in Karnes County
W. F. Shelton of Kenedy died January 31 1926 in Beeville hospital after a long Texas career. Born July 7 1838 in Peoria Illinois, he lived in Hays Miles Karnes City and Austin before settling in Kenedy. Survived by wife Minta Lee Sabins and six children plus siblings and grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday in Karnes City with interment in Kenedy Cemetery.
