Apex On Beach Two Rescued From Stricken Vessel
A fifty foot crab fishing vessel named Apex ran ashore two miles west of Cape Sitkinak on Tuesday afternoon and was be lieved total loss. Skipper Paul Moreno and crew Allan Vincent were rescued Wednesday afternoon by Neptune’s small boat. The Apex and Neptune are owned by Norman Holm. A broken tail shaft coupling caused Apex to drift after its anchor gave way while radio failure prevented calling for help. Coast Guard located the vessel on the beach and summoned Neptune for aid.
