Local MSTS Employee Survives Jet Crash
Kodiak man Alvin T. Pickett and Lt. Donald B. Parry survived a fiery F-94 crash on Kodiak Naval Station runway at 10 33 Wednesday night. Parry suffered head injuries and smoke inhalation while Pickett endured four fractured vertebrae. both were removed from serious condition as fire crews extinguished flames and a board of officers from Anchorage prepared to investigate.

New Secretary For Chamber Replaces Resident Officer
Mrs. William Smith was elected by the Chamber of Commerce Tuesday to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. James Martz who resigned due to irregular attendance. School Enrolment Shows Increase Across Grades
Enrolment at end of first week reaches 350 for both grade and high school, up from 333 last year. Elementary totals 281 versus 278 previous year, while 1952-53 high school total is 69, up from 55. Housing Engineer Returns to Kodiak After Juneau Meetings
