Old Harbor Pair in Boat Tragedy
From Old Harbor two youths Ella Agnet and Bill Hansen died when their skiff struck a rock near Amy Bay while berry picking and returning home. Ella leaves three children and a forthcoming fourth. Bill Hansen is survived by his father Durbin Hansen, a former Norway ski jumper, plus siblings. Air Department from Kodiak Naval Station assisted searches before bodies were recovered.

A three precinct Democratic caucus Oct 18 at the Elks Club elected 17 delegates for the Third Division Democratic Convention in Anchorage Oct 28 and 29. Kodiak precinct delegates included Buck Holyman Louis Thomas John Malutin Henry Hague and others while Mission Road and Naval Base also named representatives. The Kodiak Island Democratic Club meeting followed with Flora Spiegel resigning as Secretary and Anna Mae Vokacek elected Treasurer Rosemary O'Reilly named Secretary.
