Boy Caught After Theft Ends Juvenile Crime Span
A y1 year-old youth from a vil on the mainland was detained in Kodiak after deputy U.S. Marshal Paul Herring traced him to a boat. He admitted breaking into Grimes Packing company warehouse, stealing a dory with outboard, paint, and other items, then taking rifles, ammo and food to Spruce Island before tossing the guns overboard. No action pending word from the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Joseph Lohr age 60 died at Griffin Memorial hospital after heart failure treatment. Born Kodiak March 30 1884 he lived here all his life working as a fisherman. Funeral at the Russian parsonage with Father Gerasim Schmaltz officiating and burial in the Russian cemetery. Survived by two nephews Nick Lohr and Fred Lohr and a niece Alice Eklutna. Preceded in death by his parents.
