Night Club Robbery at Montmartre Sees $251 Stolen
The Montmartre nightclub was robbed Thursday evening by a thief who climbed to the rear tanks, pried a bathroom window latch, and took $251 from the safe, leaving a check and missing $900 in uncollected funds. The culprit exited via the second story window into a kitchen roof. Deputy Herring and Chief Allman investigated.

The Orpheum theater caught fire when a Technicolor ski reel and a Three Stooges short burned in the booth. Old Cemetery Problem Looms Over Wright Construction
After a building permit was granted for 11 000 dollars of work by Pat Wright on Shelikof highway property, the plot is found to belong to Simeonoff cemetery. Block 36 covers 14 093 square feet, with 17 graves originally. Two graves were moved during highway widening. Wright plans to attend Monday’s council meeting as officials seek to resolve the issue.

A Monday night to Tuesday windstorm caused two boats to be swamped at local anchors and damaged windows and chimneys. Gusts peaked at 86 mph with a 6 am to 6 pm average near 60 mph. A gale warning of 130 mph was found erroneous. Drunk Causes Trouble In Car
George Magnusen picked up an inebriate who was off a boat in port and planned to take him back to his boat. In the police car the inebriate grabbed the wheel and stepped on the gas, causing a leaky radiator and a fence impact. The inebriate received a $25 fine.
