School Funds Save Until January
The Indepen dent School District board secured funds through Bank of Kodiak and the city council to operate until the third week in January. The bank advanced funds for immediate use and the council guarantees payments due March 15 and June 15. About $5000 has been received for 1949-50. over $10,000 is owed from the territory for last year. Taxes collected this year total around $4000, with many property owners unlocatable and further taxes expected once taxpayers can be notified.
