Waterfront Skipper Buys Pacific Trawler for Crab Fishery

Gordon Nelson of the Western Clipper sailed to Adak to fish king crab for Res off's Teresa Lee. He owns the Pacific Trawler, a 138 ft vessel being converted for crab fishing, expected back by April or May. Skipper Louis Wick of the Eldorado recently turned 70 and celebrated by going crabbing.

Hillstrand Plans Kodiak Tourist Hotel On Reef Site

Land's End owner Hillstrand, an Anchor Age legislator and investor, outlined at a city council meeting plans for a 750000 dollar hotel on a rock outcropping near the small boat harbor in Kodiak. He said the hotel would attract fishing fleet fans with authentic industry sights and would create new wealth without competing with local businesses. The council would decide on the site within a week.

A speech and hearing clinic runs November 18 to 22 at Ko diak and the Naval Station. Miss Margaret Hamilton of the Alaska Crippled Children's Ass'n will meet at the Community Baptist Church on Monday Tuesday and Thursday and at the Naval Station Community Center on Wednesday and Friday.
