City wide Armistice Day events in Kodiak with two minute silence at 11 am. Veterans groups meet at 10 45 am near the tank and march to the cemetery. Naval Base to dress ship and WVCQ to air special Armistice program.
Game night at the Legion hall will be discontinued until further notice due to lack of interest. Reuben Tiny Tesarik, director, said yesterday. Monday night dances will continue as will the Saturday night program and the Sunday night social hour. Dances and social hour have been well attended.
Kodiak Polio Association schedules a special meeting at 2 30 pm November 19 at Elk's clubrooms. Orin Kimball, chairman, says officers and trustees will discuss business and the Iron Lung to purchase. Alaska Visitors Association leader Herb Hirscher told Kodiak Chamber members the tourist trade could reach a hundred million dollars, with capital funds and road improvements key. Antonio Polet urged hospitality to attract visitors and warned to avoid deterring tourists, linking events like the Fur Rendezvous and Matanuska Fair to tourism. Decisions in two suits between H F MacDonald owner Kodiak Cold Storage Co and the City of Kodiak will be delivered Monday by Commissioner A M Vokacek after a Thursday hearing. The city seeks 78.50 for an unpaid water bill while MacDonald seeks over 1000 in damages for alleged plant harm during a water outage last year. Talmage L Smith represents MacDonald, John C Hughes for the city. City clerk Myrna Perkins testified for the city.

The union occurred south of Tokchon amid a Chinese buildup near Manchuria. U S planes hit red tanks southeast of the border as Marines moved to within three miles of the Changjim dam after a six mile advance.
Mrs. W W Root reports that Chris Oslin a nurse at Pt Bailey Kadiak Fisheries married on October 7 in Las Vegas Nevada. She now goes by Mrs Evans but did not reveal her husband's first name or occupation.

A federal grand jury indicted Oscar Collazo, 37, Puerto Rican, for murder in the Nov 1 attempt on President Truman. The charge centers on the killing of White House guard Leslie Coffelt as Col lazo and Griselio Torresola opened fire. Torresola died in the attack. other guards returned fire. Mr and Mrs Walter OBrien bought Verna Abston's Mill Bayrd home and moved in this week.
Local Masons will conduct memorial services for Oscar Sackerson who died last week at 2 pm tomorrow. Graveside services will be held at the cemetery.
