Engineers Study Terror Lake Hydro Project
A five day reconnaissance by Retherford Associates engineers Bob Retherford and Bob Burns with geologist Fred Jones examined Terror Lake terrain for a Kodiak hydroelectric project aiming at 27 000 KW. The team used a helicopter from Kizuyak Bay and will feed the first formal report to REA FAA Defense Dept US FWS and State ADFG. They found aggregate nearby and area access good for dam sealing and tunnel material. Construction would cut operating costs for Kodiak Island industry and commerce.

Alaska Pioneer Bob Chamberlain Dead At Age 92
Bob Chamberlain an Alaska pioneer died Sunday November 3 at Griffin Memorial Hospital at age 92. Born January 4 1871 in Iowa he came to Alaska in 1897 during Nome Gold Rush Stampede. He lived in Kodiak from 1927 and earlier on Marmot Island working as a mail carrier using stage and dog teams. He is survived by two nephews Walter Chamberlain of Bellevue Washington and L Chamberlain of Pasadena California.

Outdoorsmen to Hold Turkey Shoot in Kodiak
Members of the Kodiak Outdoorsmen Club decided at their monthly meeting at the High School to hold a Turkey Shoot on either November 17 or 24 depending on weather. The location is undecided.
